Drugs Interactions ( Part-1 )

1. Combination of Aluminium hydroxide gel and Pseudoephedrine decreases effect of that drug to increases pH of gastric fluid.

2. Combination of Ciprofloxacin and Theophylline increases plasma level of theophylline due to inhibition of theophylline metabolism.

3. Combination of Aminoglycosides and Beta-lactum antibiotics shows synergistic effect, if, only, they are combined separately.

4. Combination of Cortisone and Ampicillin shows antagonistic effect.

5.Combination of Erythromycine/Clarithromycin/Telrithromycin and Carbamazepine/Phenytoin increase level of Carbamazepine and Phenytoin.

6. Combination of Methotrexate and Sulfamethoxazole displaces from binding site  and increases free plasma concentration of drug.

7. Combination of Amphotericin B and Flucytosine shows synergistic effect.

8. Combination of Ketoconazole and Amphotericin B shows antagonistic effect  due to decreases ergosterol level.

9. Combination of Azoles and Terbinafine is contraindicated.

10. Combination of Posaconazole and Ergot alkaloid is contraindicated as Posaconazole is the inhibitor of hepatic CYP3A4 enzyme and Ergot alkaloid, being CYP3A4 substrate, becomes contraindicated leading to Ergotism.
