Hello friends, in our last blog I have discussed about the origin and historical evolution of pharmacy. I have been thinking of discussing about
the scopes of pharmacy, mainly, what kind of jobs are available in the market. Well, frankly,
speaking there are various
opportunities for the pharmacy students such as in sales and marketing, hospital pharmacist,
government jobs, industrial jobs, jobs in academic sections like becoming
lecturer or assistant professor in pharmacy institutions etc. In the sales and marketing department, you can go for various posts like marketing where
you have opportunity of becoming a medical representative(MR) , or you can be chosen
in product management , in training or may be for market research .
In Hospital
Pharmacist post you have to do clinical trials and so other things. This post is
also available in government sections. There are different government jobs waiting
for the pharmacists like drug inspector, MPSC or RRB. They can
go for production, where they can be taken in Quality Control(QC), Quality
Assurance(QA) or in drug store departments. They have the way to move on to Research &
development sections(R&D) , where they can be related to formulations of drugs , drug
discovery, analytical method development, or in NDDS , herbal research or to
pharmacokinetics drug metabolism . Biotechnology is very important and well
defined part in modern industry and sometimes qualified pharmacists are involved in the
processes of genetic engineering or in other processing. There has also a unique way or we
can say different and independent way for entrepreneurship. You can become a whole
seller in the field of medicine or pharmacy, or you can become manufacturer or supplier.
There has also a scope of becoming a consultant. If possible you can earn Pharm
D degree to become a licensed physician almost equivalent to a licensed MBBS doctor.
I didn’t mention about the money because no one knows or guarantees the exact
amount concerning to jobs, because it varies but it’ll be earned decently, I can
guarantee it, of course. It will eventually if you hold your patience.
