Cholesterol is amongst very few terms which could be relatable in today's world regarding its impact on human body, perhaps the only term, rapidly growing interest between researchers and scientists. It is not just a term, rather, a significant one which will define our physicality as well as our mentality. We have one problem today and that is obesity and fat; it is very common in our society but the consequences are very fatal and now is the time to put control over our body and celebrate cholesterol free world. But to do that, we first have to know bit about cholesterol and its role. There is a bit of survey being listed in the end of the article which would increase your consciousness about your health and for those who are mostly fascinated by the statistical figure.
what is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is one of those complex structural components of cell membrane which often considered as fatty substance as they are responsible for the membrane permeability and fluidity of the cell. As these functions are crucial so does the level of cholesterol, which are, mainly, responsible for several heart diseases. Cholesterol is having three components, namely, Triglyceride, LDL and HDL etc. of which LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) is considered as "Bad Cholesterol" while HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) termed as "Good Cholesterol".Causes of Heart Disease !!!
The reason I put exclamation sign at the end of the heading is because the way these good cholesterol and bad cholesterol interact with each other and making impact on the heart as well as blood vessels is quiet interesting. Anyway, LDL, if found excessive, is very sticky waxy material with high molecular weight tend to accumulate around the blood vessels resulting in narrowing of that particular vessel eventually ended up obstructing the blood flow through the vessel. Subsequently, not enough amount of blood will reach into the heart, so that, few problems will occur such as pump failure, insufficient cardiac output, weakening of the heart muscle and eventually blockage of chamber etc. On the other hand, HDL being carried by protein through the bloodstream helps in trimming those LDL off the vessel and preventing Plaque formation. Quiet interesting, isn't it?Remedies
There are two types of remedies available one is putting under medication and other is non-medication treatment. The former is applicable only when the patient is out of control, while the latter is involved in primitive cases. Anyway, putting yourself on a strict diet could solve half of the problem such as eating more vegetables containing vitamin K which would antagonize plaque formation, trimming oily food, fries, and meat off your diet chart, along side daily exercises.
